Credit monitoring or identity protection problem cancelling or closing account

Credit monitoring or identity protection Problem cancelling or closing account Illinois
On - -, 2016, I used Experian.com to check my free credit report and agreed to pay $1.00 to obtain my FICO score along with my credit report. I was then, without my knowledge or consent, signed up for a credit monitoring service. No e-mail communication from the company ever indicated that I had started a free trial, or that I needed to cancel within a specified time period in order to not be charged. On - -, 2016, I was charged $21.00 for " credit monitoring '' - service that I neither desired nor solicited. I called Experian on - -, 2016 in order to obtain a refund for this charge and was told that they are unable to provide refunds for this service. I believe that the method by which they are surreptitiously signing up people for this " service '' is both dishonest and disreputable. It even more egregious because it is being foisted on unknowing consumers who are deliberately seeking to manage and improve their financial health - and instead are being gouged by one of the very companies who instead should be trying to help consumers with financial transparency. Experian should be forced to un-bundle the " credit monitoring '' service from the FICO score offer so that it is no leading misleading and deceptive to consumers.
