Amex Credit Card Complaint

Billing disputes

Amex Credit card department,

Billing disputes Tennessee

Today I received an email stating that my credit card company, American Express, did not receive my payment and was charged $37.00 fee. I knew for a fact that I paid it because I have set my bank account to automatically send on the - of each month. This had happened before and they tried to raise my rate to something crazy like 25 %. I thought I had messed up, but looking back I did not and I indeed made a payment. I paid ahead so I knew that when my payment was due on the - of each month that my payment from my bank account would get there in plenty of time. I called today and spoke with a representative and yes, I did make 2 payments. I made one on - - that paid - - 's payment and I did pay again on - - to pay the - - payment. When speaking to the rep, she informed me that the - - payment did n't count toward my - payment ( even though the - payment had been made ) because I would have to make it in the month of - to count and I just paid extra in -. This is ridiculous! No other card I have punishes you for making a payment early and tells you that you did n't make your payment and charges you at $37.00 fee. If I pay early, then a lot of times I do n't show a minimum payment for the next month. My mim payment is - and I am paying - and they are charging a late fee.
