I recently contacted American Education Services ( AES ) on - -, -. I spoke with customer service rep, -, with employee ID # -. My call was in reference to - loans that have now come into repayment status, and were formerly owned by National Collegiate Trust, but are now managed by AES. - other loan, formerly owned by - - -, and now managed by AES is current and the payment is manageable. I 'm currently unemployed, diligently seeking employment but have not yet received any job offers. I was last employed full-time in -. - was highly professional and diligent in seeking a solution to offer. I had inquired on the possibility of deferring or forbearing the - loans. - was unable to offer that option, or rather AES was insistent in not extending this offer. The only solution she suggested was to place all - loans into an automatic payment plan that would lower my percentage rate by a 1/4 % over the life of the loan. Yes, that does make


Despite - 's professionalism, in other calls to AES, I have found its employees rude and belligerent. When I asked to escalate my issues to a higher manager, they would say, " Why? They 're just going to tell you the same thing? '' Inexcusable. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer to mediate this situation CFPB. I realize that I am contractually obligated to repay these loans, which I have never lost sight of ; however, I would like to reach an agreement with AES that would mutually satisfy their need or assurance of repayment, and my need to make a payment that is substantially lower than what I 'm currently now paying.
