Citibank Bank account or service department,
Checking account Using a debit or ATM card New York
I attempted to purchase gas on Wed - - in the evening in a gas station where I always purchase gas. It 's a - gas station ( Route -, - -. NY ) and I use a 'speedpass ' which is linked to my debit card with a Citibank checking account. I have done this for many many years. The purchase was declined several times. I knew Citibank sent me a new debit card, so I went home, activated the new credit card, and attempted to purchase gas again on Thurs - - morning. I twice tried the speedpass and it was declined. I tried my debit card at the pump and it was declined. I went into the store and swiped the debit card and it was declined. I had borrowed cash and was able to put enough gas in my car in order to go to work on Thursday.
thing. I called customer service and was not satisfied and requested to speak with a supervisor. Another person, -, came on the line. She stated that nothing was showing that there was a problem with my Citicard. She told me that emails were sent to all customers that there old debit cards would no longer work if they did not activate the new cards. She told me I should go on the gas station website to see if they were having a problem. I was not satisfied and asked to speak to someone else. She told me she put in a request and I would hear in 2 business days. ( I assume that means next week. ) My complaints against Citibank : 1. They are holding my money hostage. 2. I activated my new Citicard and it still did not work. 3. I was stranded and unable to put gas in my car and had to borrow money in order to put gas in my car and go to work. 5. They cut off access to my bank information online. 4. They are going to make me wait for days until an advocate calls me and addresses my concerns. 5. How can they refuse people access to their money because they decided to issue a new debit card???? I have been a customer with Citibank since 1969 ( when they were called - - - ), and I am outraged with their bullying techniques in handling customers and their poor customer support when needed.
