Credit reporting company's investigation Inadequate help over the phone California

In - 2009, a fax lien was filed on my Equifax , - and - credit repots. - and - removed the lien ( it has been 7 years since it was placed ). I contacted Equifax last month and I was assured that it would be removed this month. I contacted Equifax this morning and am now being told it wo n't be removed for another three years. Does Equifax has a different set of rules that it follows?
