I was sold a Zero % interest plan ( for 2 years ) in store by - / Synchrony Bank. It turns out this is a deferred interest plan, which is not what they tell you in-store, of course. Now, at the end of the promotional period, I 'm hit with a massive bill ( charged at 30 % ). They claim they 've given me this deferred interest information in my monthly e-statements, which I have to log in to the website to see, but in their monthly communication, the bank gives you all of the information one needs in the body of the email ( statement balance and last payment ), so one would never log in to the website to check. While I 'm sure they have all of the their legal I 's dotted an T 's crossed and I should have been more diligent, rather than just listening to their " zero interest '' pitch, they are hoodwinking unsuspecting consumers and engaging in predatory lending.
