I refinanced my mortgage with Nationstar - 2015. At the time of refinancing I had $1700.00 in my escrow account and they only gave me credit for $870.00. I asked the closing attorney ( which they supplied ) and he said they would probably send a check. I just received a bill from the for $300.00 because of an escrow shortage. I called and spoke with - and she says that that money was applied to something else however she could not tell me what. But that my escrow showed an overage and if they sent it to me i would just have to send it back to them. I asked her was it even legal to just disperse my escrow money as they saw fit. I have called several time and left voicemail messages for her ( - - - ) but she will not return my call. So I have $870.00 floating around somewhere. I was not told it would be used for closing cost as I was under the impression that I did n't have any.
