Closing/Cancelling account Colorado
After discovering this issue while trying to apply for a new mortgage, I tried the customer service numbers online. Each one was a dead end nobody seemed to know who to talk to about this issue at Wells Fargo. I closed the accounts in person and they do n't tell me that I still owe money?! I ended up going into the branch where I got some actual customer service. The lady worked with me to try and get me to talk with the correct people and actually appeared to be making progress to resolve this while I was sitting in the branch. The best customer service that I ever experienced at Wells Fargo. Before leaving, we submitted a letter to the credit department and they said that within 10 days they would resolve the issue with the credit bureaus. 9 days passed and I checked in to make sure that I could still expect the 10 days that I had been promised for this issue to be resolved. She broke the news to me that the process had n't been started since the paperwork was not transferred properly. At this point, I was up against a deadline and needed
not admit any fault in not closing my accounts properly, not reporting to me that they believed I was late on payments, and causing my credit score to drop a substantial amount. I believe that going into a bank and talking with a banker to close accounts should be the most foolproof way to properly close accounts. This is not the case with Wells Fargo. In addition to not closing properly, there were not any phone calls made to me explaining the situation ( that they did n't properly close my accounts ) until they had already negatively reported against me. In the end, I 'm going to pay a higher interest rate on a 30 year loan over $ - due to Wells Fargo 's negligence in properly closing accounts and properly contacting me when something was not up to standard on my account.
