I opened a - IRA with Wilmington Trust ( now M & T Bank ) in -. Five years later, they failed to notify me of the 5-year CD 10-day window, even though I had informed the bank of my new address. I resolved not to miss the next 10-day window to transfer my funds to another bank in - -. In preparation, I made multiple calls to M & T bank to ask questions and notify them of my intent. No one from M & T could facilitate my request to transfer funds, so I got the receiving bank to handle the transfer. When I confirmed the transfer, I discovered that M & T charged $75.00 for the transfer - even though it was during the 10-day " do with it what you like '' window and no one had informed me of this during my preparation period! When I called to ask them to reverse the fee, the branch manager said there was nothing he could do, and *then* M & T sent my statement declaring the $75.00 transfer fee - after the fact!
