Non-federal student loan Communication tactics Called after sent written cease of comm California
- hired Financial Asset Management Systems ( " FAMS '' ) to collect on a student loan. Under Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( " CFPB '' ) complaint number -, FAMS stated that they did not contact me after - -, 2015, which was a flagrant lie and a flagrant violation of the Fair Debt ColIections Practices Act. I have attached a letter from FAMS where they confirmed they tried to call me on - -, 2015, even though they had received a written cease and desist letter from me in - 2015 and another one in - 2015. Both of which were logged in the CFPB complaint system and were in writing. In addition, FAMS again lied under complaint number -, where they stated they had n't contacted me after - 2015, which was another lie, as I have the phone records of FAMS calling me on - -, 2015, in addition to FAMS ' own written confirmation that they contacted me on - -, 2015. FAMS is engaging in deceptive debt collection practices, and their frequent misrepresentations are flagrant violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. In addition, their contact and their harassment after I had sent them written cease and desist letters has caused me severe emotional distress and health related issues.
