Equifax Credit reporting department,

Credit reporting company's investigation Inadequate help over the phone North Carolina

On - -, 2016 I went to the official Equifax.com website and purchased what I thought was my full credit report with - credit scores from the top - credit reporting agencies, Equifax , - and -. I received my full credit report with credit scoring, which is not the - actual credit scores. I understood that it was possibly my mistake, even though their language caused the mistake. I called Equifax on the same day, - -, and spoke with - and asked what it was that I had bought. He told me that if what I prefer is the full report with the - scores he would do the following : issue an immediate refund of my $39.00 which would be posted to my account within 3-5 business days, confirmation number : -. The next step was to purchase a credit monitoring trial for $19.00, which gives me exactly what I want, then cancel the next day, on - -, so that I am not billed for monthly monitoring services. I said I was happy to pay the one-time $19.00 fee as long as I could cancel the following day and have a full refund of the first

On - - I now have my report with scores. I am pleased. Upon approved instruction from Equifax , I called back to cancel the trial. They told me it was cancelled and gave me a confirmation number of : -. I did not, however, receive any email confirmation, as I had asked for, in both circumstances. Moving on. Before I ended the call I asked that they confirm my initial refund for $39.00. The service representative ( did not understand the name but he was male ) said that refund was not issued and that he would take care of it. Again, no email confirmation of this. On - - I still have no refund. I called Equifax and spoke with -. He told me that no refund had been issued and that he had to escalate this to their investigations department who needed to review and approve such refunds and those take 7-10 business days IF approved. He told me this is how they all are handled and that he did n't know why the other - Equifax representatives responded the way they did. Again, no email confirmation. Today is - -. It has been 22 days since this all began. I want my refund of $39.00. It is my hope that on - -, 2016 I am not charged with a monthly monitoring fee. If so, I 'll be going through this all again. Thank you CFPB for your assistance in this matter.
