I got a mortgage with INVESTORS BANK, for my brownstone at - - - - - NY -. I paid in advance $12000.00 - - - dollars ) for the appraisal, appraisal review, environmental report and engineer report. I have been asking for months that my appraisal is sent to me, the bank refuses and states that is the bank 's property and will only be released only at closing. By law I am entitled to a copy of my appraisal. On the term sheet -that I signed- does not say that it will be released only at closing. I called the broker - - from - - - and directly the bank. My attorney - - - -. has spoken with - and they still refuse to give it to me. They state that I have to send a letter of cancellation and refusal of the commitment in order to get it. This is unlawful. What can I do to get my appraisal? I am a - -, a widow, and have several times refinance my brownstone that I have owned for close to 40 ( forty ) years.
