I deposited a check for $8000.00 into my Wells Fargo account on -/-/16. The check was from my - account. - is showing that the check cleared on -/-/16. Wells Fargo is claiming that there were insufficient funds in - to clear the check and they are closing my account. I confirmed with a - banker that the funds were available and they were sent to Wells Fargo. I faxed a letter on -/-/- from - to Wells Fargo that explained that the check cleared and funds were available. It had the bankers name and contact information on it. I was told to expect a decision on the account closure today, -/-/-, however when I called they had not yet made a decision. They have not as of yet released the hold on the $8000.00 check even though it cleared -. I have not yet been provided a definitive answer as to when those funds will be available. Even though the status on the website shows it will clear tomorrow, -/-/-, the agents on the phone seemed unsure if it would be available then. They have also informed me that my credit card is on hold because there is a hard hold on my checking account, and if Wells Fargo closes the checking account they will close the credit card as well.
