A loan was taken out in my name. I was sent a letter saying I had taken out the loan when I had not. I called to learn more and was asked to provide my social security number, I did not. Then I got a letter saying I owed on the loan I never took out. I wrote the company to dispute the loan. I then got a letter saying I would be reported as not paying the debt. The debt was on my credit report. I disputed this in writing, filed a police report, put a fraud alert with the credit agencies. The company is Greensky Loan Services. Located in -, GA. The company number on the credit report does not go to a working number. However, after I called, someone called me back and said they had received 1 of my written disputes. They again asked for my social and asked me to fax the police report. I did this. It seems odd that this company created a debt, and reported this to the credit agencies. It may be a case of stolen identity, or it may be a scam by this company Greensky.
