I have been a customer of the Paypal credit ( previously Bill Me Later ) for some time now. While reviewing the CFPB website I saw a determination of some practices that I believe I was a victim of. Abusively charged consumers deferred interest : The ability to repay the items that were being deferred was not easily apparent, and as such caused undue fees to be applied instead of paying items that cause additional interest. Made consumers use PayPal Credit for purchases instead of their preferred payment method : Merchant websites utilize whatever payment option is chosen with paypal, and the payment is not easily apparent. Multiple times I have payed for items that have used the default " paypal credit ( bill me later ). At the time I did n't realize this was something to watch out for but after reading the article there are more than a few items that I would have rather payed for up front for that I was n't clear I had the option for that are now costing me in interest. Please review my account and case because I feel this falls directly in line with the determination made by the CFPB in - of 2015.
