I believe Chase bank is in violation of the legal tender act by failing to exchange legal U.S. tender for smaller denominations of legal U.S. tender without having an account with them. On -/-/2015, at approximately noon, I went to a Chase bank branch located at - - - - -, - -, NV -. I was attempting to exchange a $20.00 bill for - roll of quarters. As I would not provide account information I was denied the exchange. The vice-president/branch manager - - told me this was Chase 's policy recently instituted. If that is true, this means that people without bank accounts will now be out of luck when it comes time to do laundry. No quarters for the poor? Sounds illegal to me.
