JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
Credit determination California
On Friday, - -, 2015, I submitted a credit application for - credit cards, including the Chase - Preferred card and the Chase - card. I am a long standing customer of Chase Bank and have a previous lending relationship with the company. Upon submission of my applications, Chase Bank declined the Chase - card, but approved the Chase - - - Card. Subsequently, I called the Chase Lending Services phone line and was informed that Chase Bank employs a policy whereby Chase does not approve consumers who have opened - or more credit cards within the past 24 months. However, please note that I was in fact approved for the Chase - - - Card, which would violate the policy stated by the representative. I asked the representative where the policy was advertised during the application process and he advised that it is not disclosed. Furthermore, he said this policy decision is not a reflection of my credit worthiness or existing relationship with the bank. I expressed my concerns that this policy is not advertised during the application process. Chase is running a hard credit inquiry, which affects my credit score. Instead, they could just disclose during the application process that the -card policy exists and would eliminate a hard credit inquiry.
