I deposited - state checks from my - retirement fund, in person at chase on saturday - - 2015 at -. Both the checks were over - k but both are state or local government issued checks. I was planning on using some of this money to buy - presents for my kids. The teller casually told me after i asked that it would be 2 days to clear ok no prob. But i look on reciept and it says - -. I have a credit uniom i can take them to that would make them available sooner. From what i read of cc federal reserve regulations this is a violation. Because i deposited a local government check in person i believe 2 days is the max hold. Am i wrong, and can i get the checks back monday morning so i can take them to credit union?
