PayPal Credit card department,
On - -, 2015, I discovered that I have been a victim of Identity theft as someone opened a PayPal Credit account in my name without my knowledge or permission. This account was opened on -/-/2015 with an address that I had not occupied until -/-/2015 and at the time was only known to - potential mortgage company, - -. My complaint is against PayPal Credit specifically. I have discovered that all anyone needs to open a PayPal Credit account is the last - of a SSN. Since most documents conceal all but the last - of your SSN, this is a concern. Why does PayPal Credit have my SSN on file in a database? How do I remove my information from their database? Is it legal for them to store my personal and confidential information? Any consumer can go to - and open one of their credit accounts with only their name, address, and last - of the SSN.
