I attempted to deposit cash into my father 's checking account at Chase bank. I recently moved and I am no longer able to drop off cash at his home. I was advised that I can deposit a personal check but they would put a hold on it. I had already gone to my bank to withdraw the $1000.00. They asked if I am a Chase bank customer and I said yes that I have a credit card with the bank. The teller said she could due a cash advance for a fee from my account. To me, Chase is just trying to make things harder for their customers to bank at their institution. This is a ridiculous rule that does n't really safeguard bank assets and it is wholly inconvenient.
