Medical Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt Georgia
I took my ex-girlfriend 's - son to - - -, with the agreement that the mom would pay any fees incurred. The doctor 's office 's posted financial policy, that I agreed to, states only the custodial parent will be held responsible for any unpaid balances. In addition, the State of Georgia has a Parental Responsiblity Act reflecting a law which states only the custodial parent can be held responsible. - - - says, since I filled out the medical forms, it is assumed that I am the parent, therefore have joint responsibility. Georgia laws and the merchants financial policy state otherwise. I have disputed this debt numerous times with - and all they do is verify whether or not the doctor 's visit took place. That is not what I am disputing. I am disputing the legality of being held responsible for the unpaid debt and having it posted to my credit report by PDQ Services - Inc. When I provided parental records, legal documents, financial policy, and copies of the laws to the credit reporting agency, creditor, and collection agency ; they refused to honor the documents. I have provided more than enough information to be exonerated from any financial responsibility and have had no solution from any party. - will not honor the information I provided and referred me to get help from Bureau Consumer Financial Protection.
