I received a voice message from the number -. It stated that they were trying to reach - -. I am not, nor do I know anyone by this name. The message stated that it was investigator - calling. She said she '' d been asked to contact - - directly to serve a summons and that - should either contact them or fax a stand down order or she would be out with the - - - 's office to serve a summons. She ended the call with, " Thank you and good luck. '' I was directed to call - with case # -. I did call that number and ask to have my phone number removed from their database as I am not - -. They simultaneously insisted it was their process server calling and not them and that they had removed my number. Then - hung up on me. When I attempted to call back to ask to speak to her supervisor, she refused to put me through to anyone else saying she was the highest ranking person there. She called me rude and nasty even though I had not been derogatory towards her, then made some type of comment about feeling sorry for my husband. I do believe that the threatening nature of this call is a violation of fair collection practice. It is also a simple process to verify that they are calling the correct party, and in failing to do so and leaving threatening messages for unintended parties with small children in the home they demonstrated highly irresponsible behavior. I have saved the message and will gladly replay it for any investigators interested in pursuing this further.
