Mortgage Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was discharged in bankruptcy Maine
Beginning in -/-/-, we could no longer make our mortgage payment on our home in Oregon. We received letters through -/-/- that JP Morgan was starting foreclosure proceedings. We filed for Chapter - bankruptcy -/-/- in US District Court in - that included the mortgage. The bankruptcy was approved and finalized -/-/-. We have worked hard for two years and are at a point to look into buying a home again. When our mortgage broker looked at our credit, he discovered that a law firm in - filed and received a civil judgement on behalf of JPMorgan for the mortgage in - exactly a year after the mortgage was discharged in the bankruptcy. We have had trouble getting jobs, purchasing consumer items with decent interest rates, and now we can not purchase a home because of the civil judgement on a discharged debt.
