I countersued - in state court. I had already vacated the premises due to unihabitable conditions, - rat infestation ) and they wanted rent money and fees for that one month and readying the apartment ( carpet fee etc ) they also kept my deposit. However, the judge stated that I did not owe them any more monies, not for rent, carpet fee, readying the apartment etc. However, - put the debt on my credit report and sold it. I then told the debt collector that I had a case disposition stating that I did not owe. They did not remove the debt from my credit report. I recently faxed over a copy and it was still not taken off my credit report. They insisted that I owed the debt despite a court order stating that I did not.
