Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease Taking out the loan or lease North Carolina
After receiving several bids for a new furnace, we signed a contract with - in large part because of their promise of a 0 % interest loan for 12 months. When installation was finally completed in - 2015, electronic completion forms were signed in our yard but we have yet to receive electronic or paper copies of the forms. Shortly after, we started getting calls from a bank we had never heard of, Synchrony, saying we were late on our credit card payment. When we finally reached a person, they explained that they were servicing the furnace debt. We had not received anything in the mail from them or had any prior contact. On - -, 2015 we received our first mailing from Synchrony with statements that detailed a $29.00 activation fee, $25.00 late fee and $55.00 in interest ( 9.99 % rate ). We receive 0 % interest offers from credit cards almost daily and never would have agreed to a new credit card with activation fees and 9.99 % interest. Our - representative says there is nothing he can do to rectify the situation.
