Credit card Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Florida
My wife and I have a Sears credit card issued by Citibank, my wife is the main user on the account. We purchased a washer and dryer on an interest free finance option over 1 year and paid it off ahead of time. The minute we paid off the Sears balance, Citibank started calling our home phone number claiming I owed them money. We have told them many times we do n't owe them anything and asked them to not call our house again to no avail. I went to a local branch of Citibank and explained the situation and a representative from the bank told me they do n't handle Sears accounts but called the number Sears gave me to call while I was there. I spoke with a person by the name of -, who would n't give me her last name ; I gave her the last - digits of my social security number and she verified I do n't owe them anything, that the information they had was for another person and they would remove my home phone number from their calling list. They have continued calling me on daily basis, sometimes several times a day. They have been told over and over to not call again but they choose to not believe us and continue calling. I have excellent credit and I am a responsible person. The people calling speak -. Their most recent call was at - - this morning, -/-/15 from -, they call every day of the week at all times, sometimes they call from numbers not identified as Citibank. My wife answered the phone this morning and advised the woman calling, who did not identify herself, to not call our house again, that I had gone to the local branch of Citibank and contacted them to clear this, that they are calling the wrong person and we were going to report them. She said she would remove our number from their calling list, hopefully there will be an end to their calls.
