Check cashing Customer service/Customer relations Indiana

I went to - first then to a - ( - ) Supermarket to cash a tax refund check from - ( I live in - ). Both places use certegy ( Formerly Equifax ). Both places refused to cash the check and gave no reason why. I called the customer service to find out why and again, they gave me no reason for the denial of service.
