Cashing a check without an account Account opening, closing, or management Georgia

on -/-/15 i went to the regions bank -, ga - to cash a $100.00 check drawn on their bank. they insisted on charging me a 2 % fee ... if this check was drawn on another banking institution, i can see them charging a fee. i just think it 's plain wrong to have to pay a fee to the bank the check is drawn on.
