Dear CFPB, I was a victim of identity theft in -. The identity theft originated out of -. I was born in WV and have been a resident of - since -/-/-. I filed a police report and identity theft affidavit to report the crime and disputed items on my credit report ( s ) with all three major credit reporting agencies. - of the fraudulent accounts was opened with - - - -. Another was opened with - -. I have never had accounts with either of these companies. I disputed - these accounts ; however, neither of these companies acknowledged my dispute and - subsequently turned the accounts over to a collection agent.
