I made a purchase for furniture with - -, check # - is with my checking account at Chase Bank account. The salesman ( - - ) used wife 's ( - - ) name on the check instead of the furniture store. Someone cashed the check and did not deliver the furniture. The furniture store is no longer in business, and we are having difficulty verifying who cashed the check. This constitutes fraud. I want a refund. Chase Bank refuses to provide the information about who cashed the check. After several months, they now say it was cashed at -. Chase confirmed that they do not verify payees, and will clear a check with anyone 's signature even if it does not match the payee 's name on the check. I contacted -, upon Chase Bank 's insistence. but - is saying to contact Chase Bank. Neither wants to take responsibility for verifying the payee. - refuses to give any information to me and says Chase Bank should contact them so both banks could resolve the issue. Chase Bank refuses to handle the matter.. Attached is a copy of the Chase check, and a copy of the audio recording made with - who says Chase Bank must contact them. THIS COMPLAINT IS FOR - PARTIES - - AND CHASE BANK.
