Wells Fargo Credit Card Complaint

Billing disputes

Wells Fargo Credit card department,

Billing disputes North Carolina

-/-/- I signed up for a Wells Fargo - - card to take advantage of a -, no interest financing for an engagement ring purchase. I began to make payments to the outstanding balance appropriately so that the balance would be paid in full in exactly 12 months. -/-/-, I decided to add additional wedding jewelry purchases to the card and assume a new 12-month no interest financing offer. I continued to make payments on the card to pay off the first balance by the -/-/- deadline. I later discover that the payments were being applied to both financing offers through an inexplicable system algorithm, and that while I thought I was paid in full by -, their system showed an outstanding balance on the first offer. They then proceed to exercise their clause to charge 27.99 % APR on the remaining balance. When I called to ask for remedy through changing how the payments were applied to each offer, they alleged that they had no ability to control how the payments were applied and could not give me credit '' for having paid the first full balance by the 12 month deadline. They then offered to reduce the total interest charge by 25 %, and were unwilling to accept a counter-offer of something which I thought was more reasonable, which still accepting fault for something I ( and they ) could not control. I called to request audience with a level of management above the Supervisor level but was denied. I am disappointed with Wells Fargo Financial National Bank and their inability to accept responsibility for maintaining a system which has full control over people 's financial matters with no ability for human override.
