On CFPB Complaint # -, dated -, -, we repeated a request for First Tennessee Bank to stop collection calls. The first request came in a CFPB complaint dated -/-/- though not as explicit. First Tennessee Bank responded - -, -, saying that ... have stopped calls going forward. '' The calls have continued. I 'll apologize ahead of time for the length of this complaint. Their diligence in harassing us caused me to reread our agreement for this - mortgage loan. This was never a credit card loan ; it was a - mortgage loan secured by the equity in our home. The loan was written in -, we paid monthly payments faithfully for six years until we lost employment and all severance pay was gone ; additionally, by that time, property values had fallen and the house could not be sold for enough to cover the - and this - mortgage. The loan became
explained our inability to make additional payments because of loss of employment. Not once did they respond to us saying that an appraiser would be assigned to determine the home 's value as stated in their agreement. In fact, we heard nothing from them except to say that a 40 - 60 % repayment was their minimum if the house was sold. Our Realtor said that could not be done given the market. We have used money from our pockets and money from this loan to continue to upgrade this property ( pictures are attached ). When we purchased the home, it had a shack roof. California outlawed because of fire hazards, so we replaced the roof with a 15-year comp roof. Not shown is the banister that we added to the stairs leading to the bedrooms. Not shown is the new wood stove. We have also attached portions of the signed agreement with First Horizon that substantiate our statements.
