Non-federal student loan Communication tactics Threatened to take legal action California
I had a private student loan that went into collections in -. In - I began paying the loan back. The loan was apparently bought out by Regional Adjustment Bureau, they called me in - of - at my work and harassed me. I paid them a large chunk of the loan to start a payment process and for about a year they were taking monthly payments via auto deduct. In - they stopped taking the payments and began to call my cell phone, my parents home number and previous employers. They call multiple times a day and when I do talk to someone they are rude and refuse to send me any written documentation, claiming they already have, although I never received any. They have also left messages that someone will show up to my home or office to arrest me. They have given out personal loan information to my parents, even though I am over - years old. They have now begun to call my current work place, even though I have asked them to stop calling me all together.
