Credit card Improper contact or sharing of info Talked to a third party about my debt North Carolina

Citi financial called my home when I was n't there. Upon returning home, my boyfriend told me that Citi financial called to collect on a debt from Home Depot that had not been paid in 2 months, the amount missed, and the amount needed to pay to bring the account current. This account was personal. He did not know about the account and I did not want him to know about the account. I feel like they violated my privacy by sharing my personal information with someone other than myself.
