Credit card False statements or representation impersonated an attorney or official
Wells Fargo Debt collection department,
Credit card False statements or representation Impersonated an attorney or official Nevada
I received a phone call today as well, as my husband, and mother-in-law from a woman named - from - and associates saying they were a law firm sending legal documents to my residence and/or work place so that I could be served. '' They said this was a civil lawsuit for a credit card from Well 's Fargo bank I opened and defaulted on in 2004. This credit card had been closed and the debt has been closed and written off as a bad debt, no longer on my credit report. They then explained that If I refuse the lawsuit, criminal action will be taken against me and I will be arrested for fraud against a financial institution. Since this debt has been closed and is 11 years old, I am way beyond my statute of limitations for collection. Not only is it illegal for them to try and collect on my debt, it is also illegal for them to try and sue me, threaten criminal action, call my family members, threaten to come to my home and work, and for them to pose as an attorney 's office. I googled this company and their phone number and it is not a known company of anykind, let alone a lawfirm.
