I recently began to check my credit reports when I discovered a collection account from CMRE alleging that I owe $540.00. I do not owe any debt to CMRE or any affiliate as I have never done business with them or entered any agreements. I immediately submitted a dispute request to the credit bureaus. CMRE continues to erroneously report that this illegitimate account was verified. I then submitted a validation request in accordance to all applicable federal and state laws. CMRE received my validation request on - -, 2015. CMRE sent me a letter dated - -, 2015 simply typing my name and an amount owed. CMRE has not responded to my validation request and has not removed this trade line from my credit reports as requested. My request was submitted via certified mail with proof of delivery. I then filed a complaint with the -. CMRE responded with false statements suggesting that I acknowledged the account was validated and that they were unable to contact me because I requested to cease contact. Both of these statements are false and misleading. This company continues to add damages with their violations of collection and credit reporting laws.
