I was refinancing a mortgage with Ditech ( formerly Green Tree ). I requested a copy of the closing documents be made available to me at least - hours prior to closing. Ditech refused to provide me with these documents. Because Ditech refused to provide these documents to me prior to closing, it took over - hours to complete the closing because I checked the documents and compared them to my files. I had the time and - to take the time during closing to do this. However, many people may not be able to do this. It seems to me Ditech 's refusal to provide me with these documents prior to closing is illegal. I have given them this feedback already. However, if this is their standard operating practice, they should be held accountable by enforcement agencies for breaking the law.
