Medical Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid Washington
Renton Collections , Inc. sent a bill from the original creditor, - - -, account number - in the amount of $320.00. This amount includes the original bill of $300.00 plus $15.00 in accrued interest for a total of $320.00. After contacting a customer service representative on - - 2015 to locate the original creditor which assigned the debt to collections, I told the collection agency representative the insurance agency had already paid the bill in full. The collection agency representative angrily denounced the statement claiming they had no such information. When pressed for details about the original creditor, the billing collection agency refused providing the information claiming they did not have to provide it. I asserted that per FCRA, the collection agency did have to provide the information from the original creditor in writing per my request. However, the billing collection agency representative still refused to do and refused to turn the call over to a person in charge per my request.
