JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
Opened a credit card account in -/-/-. Interest rate was 9.9 %. - - payment due date was -/-/-. - - statement did not show any increase in minimum payment. I made my - - payment and when I received the - - statement, the minimum payment jumped to - with no significant purchases made during - -. After scrutinizing the - - statement, I noticed a late fee payment and also a change in my interest rate from 9.99 to 29.99 %. I immediately called this credit company and they said that my payment that was due on -/-/- was late and that they did not receive it until -/-/-. I could not believe what I was hearing especially since the holidays could have slowed the mailing process. They were very negative about my complaint and said that their policy stated that they had every right to do what they did. I have sent letters pleading with no avail. In - - statement which was due in - -, - was not paid and in my letters, I stated that if no consideration would be given to my account, that they would not see a dime from me. I had a balance of about $ - and I believe the balance is now up to - or - ( with all the late fees and other fees ). I have a credit score of - and I applied for a VA home loan and was turned down because of the collection that is still on my credit report. The VA finance recommended that I get in contact with your company and maybe you could help me.
