In - 2015, I obtained a copy of my - Credit report. I noticed that a collection account was being reported from - Firstpoint Collection Resources, -. - -, -, NC - from - insurance. This was the first time I became aware of this debt. While, I did n't understand why this was being report, as I have had additional policies from this company in the meantime. I was never contacted about this debt. I immediately called Firstpoint and paid this debt, as I was very worried about the damage to my credit scores. When speaking to the representative from Firstpoint, I was told to dispute this account - to have it removed. I preceded to submit the dispute. Today, - -, I received the results of my dispute. Firstpoint did not agree to remove the account from my - report. While I understand the responsibility of Firstpoint to report accounts to credit reports, I was not given the chance to take care of this matter before it was reported. I have very good credit scores with the other credit reporting agencies. This collection account is going to cause problems when I try to obtain a mortgage.
