TMX Finance LLC Consumer loan department,
Vehicle loan Managing the loan or lease Alabama
I received a title loan from Title Max over a year ago. I regret this choice, as I can not afford to pay more than the monthly finance charge, which is 10.99 %. I have made my payments as required every month, with a few late payments only, and no more than a week late at the most. I am stuck in this endless cycle of debt, with no way out it seems. My complaint is, my last payment due date was on -/-/2015, which was a Saturday. I had the amount I owed, but due to transportation issues, was unable to make it to the office that day to pay ( no one can go for me, unless granted power of attorney ). They are closed on Sundays every week, and this particular week was - -, therefore they were closed -/-/2015, and -/-/2015. I called to let them know on the next business day, I would be there with my payment, and one days late fee. I spoke to - -, and she said, I had to pay for late charges for the 2 days they were closed, in which it was physically impossible to make a payment.
trash and hung up in my face when I called to let her know I was on my way to pay. I am appalled at her mistreatment of a paying consumer, who has never missed a monthly payment. The company makes their rules as they please, because there have been times in the past that I was not charged for a Sunday, or a particular holiday in which they were closed. I am in a financial rut, but manage to keep up these payments, as I can not lose my vehicle. Is this legal and the way the woman treated me was terrible business practice, and being a manager of this particular Title Max location, she should know better.
