GE Capital Retail Credit card department,
I applied for and received a Care Credit Card -/-/-. My understanding was that if I paid my balance in full by the deadline - -/-/- - I would accrue no interest. I have made regular payments, and when I had a late payment I paid the late fee along with the payment. I have never exceeded the limit of what I was told was the limit of my promotional balance. On -/-/- I submitted what I believed to be my final payment. For the first time ever, I did not receive a confirmation email. My payment was deducted from my account. When I called customer service this morning I was told that I had paid my promotional balance - but still owe $2.00 on it. However, I have another balance, which is accruing interest at 26 %. The man said that the promotion balance was a separate matter. He said I still owed on - balances from this year ; I wrote down what the balances are, but then as we spoke he kept giving me different balance amounts. In short, I feel deceived and frustrated. I do not object to paying what I owe, but I do not think I should owe interest on what was supposed to be an interest-free account.
