FirstMerit Bank Bank account or service department,

Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Michigan

My bank is small and only in Michigan. I was out of town for 3 weeks and needed to make a deposit via an app in order to avoid an overdraft fee. First Merit Bank does not allow overdrawn accounts to use any online/app features. So I was unable to make the deposit necessary to avoid the overdraft fees. They also would not close or suspend my account ( because it was overdrawn ) to avoid the overdraft fees. So - $35.00 overdraft fees were charged for being $0.00 overdrawn with no means available to me to make a deposit while out of state, or stop further overdraft fees from being added. First Merit asserts that I must pay these fees or have them negatively affect my credit rating. This is the definition of criminal activity.
