This afternoon I attempted to contact Renton Collections over the phone to find out additional information about a collection account they were reporting with the original company - Inc ''. I suspect it may have been a medical item that should have been covered by my insurance. After verifying the account number on the credit report, my DOB and my address, the representative refused to speak with me because I would not provide my Social Security number over the phone. A - representative got on the phone, then said he was going to put that I was refusing to identify myself and said he 'd transfer me to a supervisor so I could talk about my feelings '' and was dismissive about my concern and need to address the issue on my credit. He was clearly intending to upset me any way possible, while not providing any additional information about the debt on my credit report. The supervisor ( - - I believe was the name ) was incredibly rude, would not assist me even after I provided my DOB again and informed her I had provided both the account number and the address. When I tried to explain the situation about how the other representatives would not assist me even with the requested information, said she would put me on hold and I could hang up whenever I 'd like. I identified myself, with the exception of not providing my Social, a practice that help prevent identity fraud. I do n't have sufficient information to get this resolved, so I have tried calling - directly, but their billing department was closed.
