Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan New York

I have private loans with both - and Citibank and a federal loan with -. My payments for all - amount to $1100.00 per month ( though only $120.00 of that comes from my Federal loans ). I am a - and only make $20000.00 a year, and I have been having a lot of trouble making my payments and paying my rent at the same time. For the past 4 years, I have tried to remedy this situation, first by attempting to contact my private loan companies ( they claim that there is absolutely no way that they can change my 10 year repayment plan to a 20 year repayment plan, even though they currently offer the 20 year repayment plan to other clients ). They instead suggested that I could consolidate my loans through another lender, and so I have attempted to do so through - different companies, first through - - and then with - 's Bank. My father, who was my co-signer on the original loans, passed away, so it is no longer an option to apply with him as my cosigner. I applied first with my grandfather as my co-signer, and then my uncle, both of whom have fantastic credit scores and substantial income. I was turned down -, based not on my credit score ( which at the time was in the high - ) but based on the fact that I am a - and do n't have provable income ''. So, I am at my wit 's end. I can not afford to pay the sum I am being asked to pay per month while still paying my rent and buying groceries. My loan companies refuse to work with me to help me with the repayment and so I am currently two months behind. I have no desire to be a delinquent borrower, but the system has left me no choice. I 've exhausted all other options, and so I 'm praying that you might be able to help me in some way.
