Non-federal student loan Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was discharged in bankruptcy Maryland
Filed Bankruptcy -/-/2015, Discharge was -/-/2015, I a a co-signer on my children 's student loan with Wells Fargo who was listed as a creditor. Now after the discharge Wells Fargo starts to send mail and starts contacting me by phone again. In speaking with my attorney it was said that all creditors listed in the Bankruptcy was discharged. Wells Fargo states in a letter dated -/-/2015, that when signing the Loan Request/Consumer Credit Agreement I certified that the loans would be used to pay for qualified higher education expenses and under the rules of the - Bankruptcy Code, loans for qualified higher education expenses are not automatically discharged in bankruptcy. From my understanding it was told to me by my attorney that private loans can be discharge which Well Fargo Bank is. I am not able to pay this debt this is my reason for filing Chapter -. I do not want Wells Fargo contacting me under any circumstances.
