On - -, 2015 a transaction occurred on my checking account that was completely unauthorized. $2500.00 was debited from a business that had my card information. I called TD Bank immediately and spent the better part of - hours trying to get through to someone who could put a hold on the transaction, as it was currently processing ''. I was told by multiple persons, in multiple departments that although every other bank can process a typical stop payment '' that TD was unable to do so, and I would have to wait until the transaction processed in order to proceed with any kind of reversal. The merchant has no receipt, no invoice, no signature, no verification whatsoever of the transaction, refuses to answer my calls, and TD Bank has refused to do any legitimate investigation and get my money returned, though I provided a full account email to them, faxed verification, and was told within hours of submitting all my information that they were not interested in helping, and that I would have to contact the merchant. The same merchant who will not respond, and this has put me on par with being told the house break-in victim has to contact the burglar.
