Medical Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid North Carolina

First Point debt collection agency will not accept any information provided by insurance provider proving that I was not responsible for the debt they claim I owe. They continue to contact me and will not resolve anything. This is part of a formal compliant I have lodged with a hospital where this issue originated. I went to the Hospital E.R., on - - -, whilst there they took my - card, Driver 's License, insurance information, and my contact information. After I was treated I went to the front desk billing where they did not ask for any copay as it states on my - Access card, nor did they give me any billing or any other information, simply stated that I was good '' and was released from the hospital.. I received a recorded message on - - 2015 from First Point collection agency. I contacted them to find out why a collection agency was calling me and they informed me that a bill for the physician visit was passed

I contacted the hospital and paid the balance with my - access card. On the - - I received a letter from First point collection agency for the same bill. Hospital updated the collection agency about this bill being paid. I received this information from a representative named - from First Point when I contacted them about the letter on - - then contacted the physician and the - department on - - 2015, they had no record of my insurance or my correct address, they informed me that they had sent a letter to my previous address in AZ, I updated them with all information they need to bill the insurance and for me to be able to pay the charges I need to. I updated the collection agency rep - of all that had been done. On - - I received another call that I still owned money for the physician 's bill. I had made the payment with my - access card on - -. I contacted - and we completed a - way call with First Point, - from - faxed over confirmation of benefits to First Point rep. On - - I received a call from - - stating they never received any fax and money was still outstanding. Hospital was paid on - - ( Ref - ) with my - access card. First Point are still trying to hold me accountable for $270.00, this amount was covered by discounts /exclusions. In summary, the hospital billing structure is broken by evidence of my experience. Information has been repeatedly lost and misconstrued and has resulted in me being harassed by a debt collector for payments that were paid in full once properly routed to my Insurance provider. This should have never been an issue if the hospital simply used the information I originally provided. The hospital used the wrong information and their first and only course of action was to turn over to a collection agency. There are no outstanding debts and the hospital has not fixed the problem they created. I 'm also filing a complaint against First Point debt collection agency though Bureau of Consumer - Protection and have already sent a complaint against my Insurance provider through - 's internal dept.
