JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
Credit card protection / Debt protection California
My husband and I have a joint credit card issued by Chase. Over the past several years the card numbers have been repeatedly stolen by thieves who have access to Chase 's data. The numbers are then used to make fake credit cards to purchase things all over the world. We were told this by Chase customer service representatives. Over at most - years this has occurred on eight separate occasions, most recently -/-/-. Each time Chase blocks our account ( because of suspicious activity '' ) and we find out only when a credit card charge is declined which is quite embarrassing. This then requires us to call Chase, go through a lengthy phone interview and identity verification, receive a new card, update all online bank payment information, etc. Finally, after the - time, I wrote Chase requesting compensation for this because it is clearly a result of Chase 's lax security - no other bank 's credit cards ever are blocked in my experience. A letter dated - - was sent to Chase regarding this request ( attachment ) but other than several phone calls promising a substantive response and an email from a - -, no substantive response has been. I have made several calls to - - and sent him an email saying that no response has been received. As of today, - -, nothing further is apparently forthcoming.
