Savings account Account opening, closing, or management Texas
I opened a savings and checking account at J.P Morgan Chase Bank ( - - location ). I wired $230000.00 into the savings account # -. About - days later my personal banker called to tell me, and subsequently sent me a brief email which is attached, that he had received instructions to close the account. I received no explanation as to why only provided a phone number to call.I called that number and it was the Compliance Department. I asked to know what was found by their back office team '' that made me unsuitable as a customer. I was summarily told that the information stayed internal and is not shared with the customer. As a consumer, I should have the right to know what information they sought, who from and to determine if it was accurate. I have no criminal record and nothing that I am aware of that would make my money less desirable than anyone else 's. What recourse do I have in a situation like this to remedy, mitigate or seek a copy of the review, to know they made a decision off erroneous information.
